If you are a travel agent selling travel insurance on a Non-Advised Sales basis, you are probably breaking the law and could be subject to massive fines.

Many travel agents have been made Appointed Representatives for Non-Advised Sales and in which case will almost certainly break FSA rules.

Why? A travel agent on a Non-Advised Sales basis cannot offer advice on the travel insurance product they are offering.

Here are the pitfalls highlighted by the FSA:-

If you are asked:

"What do you think?"
"Which one is best?"
"Which product would you choose?"
"Do you think I should go for this one?"

You should NOT answer these questions.

To 'sell' travel insurance and be able to offer advice and avoid potential problems as described above you need to be on an Advised Sales basis.

Find out if you are on a Non-Advised Sales basis and if so contact us now. If you are an ABTA or ATOL agent we will provide you AR Status and for Advised Sales.
